Most people need a visa to enter Tajikistan. The only exceptions are citizens of Russia, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belorussia.
It is now possible to obtain a tourist visa from many Tajik Embassies worldwide without a letter of invitation. Please apply direct to the embassy. Please see Travel Tajikistan for contact details of Tajik embassies around the world.
You will still need a letter of invitation (visa support) if you are obtaining your visa in Dushanbe airport on arrival. This letter is included in the cost of our tours. If you are not booking a tour with us, you can apply for visa support only using the online form at Travel Tajikistan.
Please note that travel to some areas of Tajikistan, notably the whole Pamir region, requires an additional permit. See Travel Tajikistan for more details.
Most people need a visa to enter Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
In most cases, you can apply directly to the Uzbek or Kyrgyz embassy in your country without a visa support letter. The Kyrgyz are particularly helpful and will give a three-month multi-entry visa without requiring any additional documentation.
Most people need a visa to enter Afghanistan and China.
If your tour includes Afghanistan or China, a visa support letter is included in the cost of the tour. You can use this letter to apply for your visa in the embassy in your country.
