One of Tajikistan's ancient traditions is the game of Buzkashi, a kind of primal polo played with the carcass of a goat. Buzkashi remains one of the most popular sports in Tajikistan today. The biggest staging of the game is at the Navruz festival (21-22 March).
If you would rather participate than spectate, there is no better way to experience the freedom and beauty of Tajikistan's mountains than from a saddle.
