The Great Game Travel Company was started by Michael Davis, who lived in Dushanbe between 1999 and 2005 with his wife Sharon and their three children. Michael speaks Tajiki and has extensive local knowledge of Tajikistan. |

Rick Allen has been climbing the Himalaya for over 20 years, pioneering a number of difficult new routes on major peaks. He successfully led four clients to the summit of Everest in 2000. Rick speaks Russian and is very much at home in the mountains of Central Asia. |

Ashley Eves has more than 15 years' experience as Marketing and Sales director of a number of major exporting companies. He has wide experience of
international travel, much of this in the developing world. |

In the 19th century the great empires of British India and Imperial Russia vied for pre-eminence along the mountainous border region which separated their spheres of influence. This Great Game was played out over the passes and in the valleys of Central Asia and was captured dramatically in Rudyard Kipling's classic novel 'Kim'.
The Great Game Travel Company provides the opportunity for adventurous travellers of the 21st Century to explore the same mountains and extend the boundaries of their own experience.

Tajikistan used to be a popular tourist destination within the Soviet Union, because of the dramatic mountains and beautiful lakeland scenery. Independence and the civil war of the early 1990s destroyed the economy and put a halt to travel.
In 1999, as the country was just beginning to get back on its feet, Michael Davis realised that a travel company would bring urgently-needed foreign money into the country, as well as enabling adventurous travellers to enjoy all that Tajikistan has to offer.

We are members of the Travel Trust Association, an industry body which provides protection to our customers.
